If I understand correctly, Mr Reneau’s letter stated that the vote was a “Vote of Confidence” for Arnie, the Administration, and the Faculty. If this was correct I can see why one person voted the way he did. I just wonder if it had been worded a vote of confidence for just Arnie and not the district as a whole what would the outcome have been? My suspicions probably 4-3!

“Concerned Citizens for a Better GISD”
I would just love to hear what these people have to say (without having to have gone to the meeting) as to why they think Arnie Kelley needs to resign.
I mean, it sounds like to me they created this whole “organization” just to get rid of him.
Who are all the people in this so called “organization”?

Well, the royal family of Garrison has been “hurt” so, they are now on a personal campaign of destruction of one of the best school district’s in Nacogdoches County. WHY? And, when the royal family speaks so many of the “subjects” in Garrison have to jump. SO SAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pity what the “royal family” would RETIRE into obscruity and let the younger generation continue. They can handle the business of the GISD. Just amazing that so much goes back to the First Baptist Church split and the beginning of the Holly Springs Church. Again, so sad……the real christian attitude that prevails in the community?????????????????????????????????
So far as I am aware, Mr. Arnie Kelly has been a tremendous superintendent. Just tell me why that Woden and Garrison seem bent on destroying their wonderful districts. Just tell me why?
I guess it goes back to CONTROL………..and cannot let go. Woden has been destroyed….I guess Garrison is next!!!!!!!!!

We all knew when Mrs. Bob Barton wrote to the Daily Sentinel about her “experience” at the Garrison High School graduation that the “fat was in the fire”. No one in the administration will be at peace now with the WAR going onward. Such a sad story. The Garrison news paper prevents the Sentinel from getting pictures and news from the GISD, because it must go in the LOCAL paper first…so, people with ties to Garrison have to either buy the LOCAL paper, or do without much school news from Garrison. However, the Sentinel does do a wonderful job of coving the other school districts in Nacogdoches County. Thanks Sentinel~~~~~!!!
GOOD LUCK MR. KELLY. Hang in their teachers and faculty. This too shall pass.
“Little Ditty” just look at the report of the Sentinel, and you can tell who is on which side immediately!

Hey dostraught, Can you tell me how many people left Woden because their contracts werent renewed. zero! They all started scrambling and looking when they found out the good ol boy click was over and they might have to answer to someone for more than just not bringin enough minnows! You may not understand what this means but those good ol boys do!

Hey Distraught it’s just amazing to me that you would associate any of this with a church incident that happened years ago and is in no way related to any of this. The amazing thing to me is that it is people like you being two-faced that cause the problem. I personally heard the husband of one of the ladies named in this article, that acts like she is on Kelly’s side and gave an emotional talk called Arnie through my eyes, state that he wrote in a name for superintendent during the election. So, maybe it has nothing to do with the “royal” family and FBC!!

I am going to use my name as I am very proud of being a member of FBC Garrison. Last year we gave about $238,000.00 to missions so that God’s word could be spread around the world. We send boys and girls to camp so that they can hear the word, and we just finished a wonderful week of Bible School so that we could reach children in our community.John and I have been here for almost 17 years, and I’m not even sure who the “royal family” of our church is. Since Christ shed His blood on the cross for me, I’m a part of that “royal family”, and proud of it. I’m also proud of each and every member of our church, and love them all dearly. So when you blog, please don’t drag our wonderful church into it.

How can one not drag FBC and Holly Springs into the fray at Garrison? When an individual goes to church on Sunday and smiles and says he is a Christian, and goes out on Monday and STABS Mr. Arnie Kelly in the back because Mr. Kelly has not done what this member WANTS him to do……….what do you call it? A Hypocrite? Remember the Bible says, do unto others as you would have them to do unto you. You can pay alms, you can send money to missions, but the lives that people live every day is what counts in the eyes of God, our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. It would do us all good to look in the mirror every morning and ask, How Am I TREATING my Neighbor, and Mr. Kelly? Mr. Kelly just happens to be a neighbor…or is he?

Would you please tell me how you vote for a write in candidate for superintendent during a school board election? Or did I understand exactly what you stated?

I do not understand what “minnows” has to do with keeping ones’ job at Woden, maybe you do. But, you go scrambling for a job whenever the “new gold ole boys” take over and your contract is not renewed. That is a big “HINT” that you are gone. You will be the next “head on the block” to roll. It is just so strange that a family in Woden and a family in Garrison can cause SO MUCH TROUBLE AND HEARTBREAK TO A COMMUNITY. These same two families are what you call the “constipated” members of the church also. The church cannot act unless they give their approval.

You don’t write in a superintendent during the election, that is just the comment that was made. Basically stating that he thought he needed to go, and then his wife turns around and reads some emotional statement at a meeting. I just don’t like two-faced people. You get it now?

Maybe the husband was against the present administration and the wife is FOR the present administration? Is that possible? I know that husbands and wives can differ greatly on their opinions in politics and vote differently during elections. Maybe there is not a two faced person involved??? I know I VOTE AS I PLEASE and my spouse does not tell me how to VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!! My spouse does not share my opinions on politics many times…..is this the case here?

Going back to that whole Barton/Graduation thing…for the record….Mrs. Barton was NOT “banned” from graduation. Was she able to attend? Yes. Was she able to take a photograph if she wanted to? Yes. There was no freedom of the press violation.
