2 plaintiffs join lawsuit against diocese

Two more plaintiffs have joined a lawsuit against the Roman Catholic diocese of Beaumont alleging sexual abuse and exploitation by a Sacred Heart Parish priest in Nacogdoches about 35 years ago.

          There are over 500 new cases of sexual abuse in the Catholic church each year. Hopefully with this case and others the good people of the congregation will demand more from church leadership than cover ups, which I agree with the first poster, is about money - but on the part of the church leadership as accomplice to these horrible crimes. In my work, I know that it takes decades for victims to come to terms and stop believing it's something they caused. Too often victims ruin their lives and worse, end them from the pain, which to date church officials have done little to nothing to abolish. Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be altar boys! Anyone in doubt of the rampant nature of predation within the church and intentional failure of the church to protect innocent victims may wish to visit

          Thirty five years??????? Sounds like money is the motive. Why did these individuals wait so long? I would have a hard time serving on the jury....circumstantial evidence is never to be used to convict an accused individual, IMO. And, I will never use circumstantial evidence to convict. Sorry good lawyers, but learned a big lesson on that one.
