A New Waverly man is facing a third-degree felony charge over allegations of sexual misconduct via social media.
Dillian Andrew Bernard Scott, 28, was booked into the Nacogdoches County jail after surrendering to deputies Tuesday. He’s charged with indecency with a child.
Scott was indicted by a grand jury in the 145h District Court in July as the result of a complaint made to law enforcement, according to the indictment filed against him and information released Thursday by the sheriff’s office.
He allegedly sent pornographic images to a child, whom the indictment identifies as being under 17 years old, via the social media application Snapchat.
The indictment alleges an image, or images, of his genitals was sent in December 2018. The sheriff’s office investigated the complaint for “several months” before taking their information to the district attorney’s office, Thursday’s statement read.
Scott’s bail was set at $25,000, and he has since been released from the jail.
Third-degree felonies are punishable by between two and 10 years incarceration and/or up to $10,000 in fines under the Texas Penal Code.
