Theft, 5400 block of FM 1638. Deputies dispatched to a theft complaint were told “a known subject took her blanket and pillows. Deputies discovered the items were initially owned by the suspect and the complainant stated the suspect gave them to her.” They were referred to another agency for the issue.

Identity theft, 100 block of Sundown Dr. A deputy took a report about suspected identity theft.

Credit card abuse, 4800 block of North St. A credit card was used to make fraudulent purchases.

Assist complainant, 300 block of Hidden Valley Dr. Someone used a check to make unauthorized purchases, but the account owner declined to press charges for the time being.

Harassment, 100 block of Quarry Ln. “An explicit photo” was sent over social media.

Sick call and medical assist, 2300 block of Douglass Rd. An inmate at the jail was hospitalized after having a seizure.

Dog bite victim, 100 block of CR 8112. Animal control officers were contacted after a person was bitten by a dog.

Controlled substance, CR 509 and State Hwy. 21 E. Drugs and synthetic urine were found during a search of a driver stopped for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested.

Controlled substance, 13000 block of N FM 225. Deputies searched a passenger in a vehicle “who displayed signs of nervous behavior.” The person “dropped a felony amount of narcotics” we asked to empty her pockets, and was arrested.

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 1200 block of Spring Valley Dr. Someone broke into a person’s vehicle “in an attempt to remove items.”

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 900 block of Holly Oak St. Property was stolen from inside a vehicle.

Criminal trespass, 3000 block of Santa Fe Rd. Officers arrested a person who violated a criminal trespass warning.

Burglary of a habitation, 2300 block of Carole St. Someone stole a gun from a vehicle parked at a home.

Intoxicated driver, 1500 block of North St. “A subject was contacted in a vehicle and found to be in an intoxicated state. He was also found to be in possession of a firearm.”

Burglary of a habitation, 900 block of Oak Hill Plaza Dr. Someone broke in an apartment and stole property.

Major accident, 400 block of State Hwy. 103. A driver “intentionally” ran into the back of a construction vehicle.

Death investigation, 2700 block of CR 723. A person was taken to a hospital after an accident in which they were knocked off a ladder while cutting a tree limb. “The subject’s injuries were life threatening.”

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 6300 block of FM 2609. Items were stolen from a vehicle.

Credit card abuse, 4800 block of North St. A credit card was used fraudulently.

Burglary, 2900 block of CR 289. Items were stolen from a person’s property, including from a building on the land.

Criminal mischief, 700 block of CR 503. Kids threw rocks and mud at a person’s vehicle, but the vehicle owner declined to press charges.

Violation of a protective order, 2300 block of Douglass Rd. A deputy took a report about a person violating a protective order issued against them at their former spouse’s request.

Reckless driver, CR 503 and State Hwy. 21 E. Deputies issued a warning to a reckless driver.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 100 block of Circle Park Dr. A report was taken about the alleged theft of a vehicle. The owner “did not have any information at all about his vehicle. He did now know the make, model or license plate number.”

Harassing calls, 400 block of Stoddard Dr. A harassment warning was issued to a woman accused of repeatedly calling her boyfriend’s father.

Criminal trespass, 5500 block of FM 2864. A criminal-trespass warning was issued to a person at another person’s request.

Controlled substance, 1400 block of CR 521. Deputies serving a search warrant found “several grams of illegal narcotics.”

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 200 block of E Lakewood St. Someone stole items from inside a person’s vehicle.

Burglary of a habitation, 100 block of E Seale St. Property was stolen from inside a home.

Family violence, 900 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. “Officers responded to a fight between spouses where one alleged the other caused injury.”

Forgery, 2600 block of Douglass Rd. “Over a period of 11 days, an employee forger checks from the business without consent.”

Assault, 300 block of Pleasant Ln. A man assaulted his wife, and was arrested.

Controlled substance, 3400 block of South St. Marijuana was found in a vehicle during a traffic stop, and the driver was arrested.

Intoxicated driver, 2200 block of E Main St. A driver involved in a crash was allegedly intoxicated, and was arrested.

Forgery, 3000 block of North St. Someone tried to get “a dangerous drug” by calling in a fraudulent prescription.

Criminal trespass, 1200 block of North St. Officers arrested a person who violated a criminal-trespass warning and had an outstanding warrant.

Intoxicated driver, 2500 block of NE Stallings Dr. A driver involved in a major crash was intoxicated and had a gun.

Intoxicated driver, 100 block of Bremond St. A driver who swerved in the road was pulled over by police, who found the driver was intoxicated and had an open beer in the vehicle. The charge was enhanced because of prior convictions.

Arrests included: William Jack Burns Jr., 27, failure to appear on a misdemeanor, bail jumping and failure to appear and a warrant; Laderrick Lavon Carter, 37, three counts of bail jumping and failure to appear on a felony, criminal trespass, criminal trespass with a deadly weapon, expired operator’s license and disregarding a traffic signal; Kade Logan Durant, 20, driving under the influence — minor; Leslie Castaneda Grider, 41, possession of a controlled substance; La Fay Laverne Lewis Zigler, 25, criminal trespass; Leslie Renee Posey, 45, driving while intoxicated and theft of property; James Earl Redfield, 59, driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon; Eduardo Santes, 44, parole warrant hold and a warrant; Joshua Alan Sowell, 37, of San Augustine, possession of a controlled substance and Deldrick Devone Thomas, 38, sex offender’s duty to register; Sykethia Deanjanette Bell, 29, driving while intoxicated, speeding and failure to appear on a misdemeanor; Barbara Louise Dodd Bush, 63, of Houston, two counts of failure to appear on a felony; Kendral Montez Byrd, 44, driving while intoxicated — 3rd or more; Billy Glenn Carroll, 49, of Carthage, a misdemeanor; Brady Michael Condit, 45, assault; Wilford Dennis Jr., 69, two counts of criminal trespass; Ronnie Farrell Jernigan Jr., 37, public intoxication; Dalila Juarez, 36, possession of a controlled substance; David Earl Whitehead, 30, possession of marijuana.

SFA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft, Kerr Hall. A bicycle was stolen from outside a dorm between Aug. 20 and Aug. 21.

Theft, East College Cafeteria. Someone stole money from a purse on Aug. 28.

JAIL POPULATION

As of 1 p.m. Friday, there were 268 inmates at the Nacogdoches County jail. As of 10 a.m. Saturday, there were 263. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the maximum population is 292.

Motor vehicle accidents with injuries on N University Drive, Elm Street, Pearl Street and E Main Street.

Service call on Lock Street.

Smoke or odor removal on a County Road.

Animal problem on W Austin Street.

Unauthorized burning on NW Stallings Drive.
