Police Reports

Major accident, FM 2863 and CR 522. A personal vehicle was “heavily damaged” when a train collided with it in a private property accident. No injuries were reported.

Fraud, 2700 block of Sharon Rd. Someone used another person’s banking information fraudulently.

Criminal trespass, Virginia Ave. and Burk St. “Officers contacted a subject at a local business and found him to have an active criminal trespass warning for the premises.”

Hit-and-run accident, 1000 block of N University Dr. A maroon car ran into another vehicle and fled without providing the required information.

Family violence, 2900 block of E.J. Campbell Blvd. A person filed charged against a family member, whom they accused of assaulting them during an argument.

Controlled substance, 200 block of W California St. A driver was pulled over for an altered registration sticker on her car and was found in possession of a controlled substance.

Assault, 900 block of Ritchie St. One person assaulted a family member.

Family violence, 3200 block of E Laura St. “Complainant advised a known family member assaulter he and specifically targeted her unborn child.”

Controlled substance, 3200 block of E Laura St. A person parked near the scene of another call was arrested after officers smelled and then found marijuana in a vehicle.

Runaway juvenile, 2300 block of Douglas Rd. Deputies took a report about a 16 year old who hadn’t been home in three days.

Criminal mischief, 24000 block of State Hwy. 21 E. A crane being used for construction along the Attoyac River was driven and damaged by a vandal.

Animal problem, 100 block of CR 782. Deputies freed “a pregnant cat” that got stuck in a fence.

Dumping, 200 block of CR 711. Deputies contacted a person whose name was found in “household items” dumped at an oil well site. The person agreed to clean it up and believed it was his fraternity friends who dumped the litter.

Burglary of a vehicle, 200 block of Emporia Ln. A report was taken about the burglary of a vehicle.

Reckless driver, U.S. 259 S. Deputies pulled over an 18-wheeler for reckless driving.

Violation of a protective order, 2300 block of Douglass Rd. A report was filed about someone violating a criminal trespass warning.

Counterfeit bills or checks, 100 block of W Main St. A counterfeit bill was used at the vehicle registration office.

Burglary of a motor vehicle, 400 block of CR 503. A cellphone was stolen from a person’s vehicle.

Accident, 400 block of Augustine Rd. One person was taken to the hospital with an injured ankle after a rollover accident involving an ATV.

Dog bite victim, 400 block of CR 412. A report was taken about a person being bitten by a neighbor’s dog.

Arrests included: Guillermo Loren Castillo, 35, possession of drug paraphernalia and another misdemeanor; Danny Rowe Deckard, 64, parole warrant hold; James Terry Farmer, 58, burglary of a habitation, two counts of bail jumping and failure to appear, two counts of release of surety and three counts of failure to appear on a misdemeanor; Deaundre Laquan Foster, 24, possession of marijuana, no driver’s license and another misdemeanor; Dorothy Marie Garrett, 57, assault; Jontay Jarone Lane, 22, warrant; Lafashia Tuneeka Ann Pleasant, 26, possession of marijuana; Michael Louis Shulz, Jr., 32, accident involving damage to a vehicle; Joseph Walton Strickland, 39, of Crockett, motion to revoke probation.

SFA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Drug complaint, Steen Hall. One person was arrested with marijuana at a residence hall.

JAIL POPULATION

As of noon Wednesday, there were 273 inmates at the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the maximum population is 292.

Medical assists on Northwood Circle, Paluxy Street, Beall Street, Pearl Street, W Seale Street, Durst Street, Georgia Oak Street, Dolph Street and Ritchie Street.

Alarm malfunction on N Mound Street and Railroad Street.

Motor vehicle accident with injuries on Cottonwood Street and Augustine Road.
