Several mailboxes were damaged in the area of the Trawick community between State Hwy. 204 and US 259.
Deputies responded to a single initial complaint about someone on a four-wheeler riding by and damaging a mailbox around 10:24 p.m. in the 5000 block of CR 817. While patrolling the area, the deputy discovered three more damaged mailboxes between the initial report and 1 a.m. Thursday.
Mailboxes were damaged in the 6000 block of CR 817, the 2500 block of CR 918 and the 5100 block of CR 915, according to sheriff’s activity log. The damaged mailboxes fall within a 7.6-mile stretch of road in roughly a straight line between the 5000 block of CR 817 and the 5100 block of CR 915.
Fire assist, 100 block of Kolb Ln. Deputies took a report at the scene of a house fire.
Fraud, 2000 block of S FM 225. Someone fraudulently used a person’s checks.
Criminal trespass, 900 block of CR 979. A deputy spoke to a person at another individual’s request about staying off private property.
Assault, 2300 block of Douglass Rd. An investigation was opened after a woman reported “her boyfriend assaulted her and restrained her against her will.”
Harassment, 4500 block of State Hwy. 7 W. Harassment and criminal trespass warnings were issued to a person accused of a repeatedly calling another individual.
Dog bite victim, 6900 block of FM 1638. Animal control quarantined a cat that bit a person.
Criminal mischief, 5000 block of CR 817. A mailbox was damaged by an ATV rider.
Traffic offense, FM 226 S and State Hwy. 103. “Contraband” was found by a deputy searching a vehicle pulled over for a traffic violation.
Family violence, 1200 block of CR 703. Deputies arrested a man suspected of assaulting his girlfriend.
Hit-and-run, 2600 block of John Richardson Rd. A driver veered off the road and crashed into private property, then left the scene without providing the required information.
Controlled substance, 3200 block of E Main St. Marijuana and a controlled substance were found during a traffic stop.
Failure to identify, 200 block of W Austin St. A fake name and birth date were given by a driver cited for traffic violations. Warrants were requested.
Aggravated assault, 900 block of Durst St. “An investigation revealed that the suspect took property of value without the owner’s consent. Later the suspect displayed a weapon while he assaulted the complainant.”
Arrests included: Larry Cornell Bass Jr., 23, of Houston, motion to revoke probation; Michael Frank Hagan, 42, of Garrison, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and tampering with/fabricating physical evidence; Blake Cameron Jones, 19, of Jacksonville, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance; Renell Ahmad Luckett, 44, of Houston, bail jumping and failure to appear; Alvin Earl Smith, 53, parole-warrant hold and a warrant; Terri Lynn Thompson-Wade, 54, driving while intoxicated; Dexter Cornelius White Sr., 47, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Criminal mischief, Wilson Parking Garage. A vehicle was damaged while parked in a garage on Sept. 4.
Hit-and-run, Dewitt School of Nursing. A parked car was damaged by someone who didn’t stop to provide the required information on Sept. 4.
As of 4 p.m. Thursday, there were 271 inmates at the Nacogdoches County jail. According to the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the maximum population is 292.
