CENTRAL HEIGHTS — Less than a week after being knocked off by the No. 11-ranked (3A) Central Heights Lady Blue Devils in their season opener, the defending Class 2A champion and No. 1 Beckville Ladycats gained some revenge in the championship game of the Central Heights Volleyball Tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Lady Blue Devils here in Russell Gymnasium Saturday.

The Lady Blue Devils breezed to the final with an unbeaten record (7-0) on the year and led the first set with BHS, 22-20, before falling by a 23-25 count.

Trailing in set two, 18-21, CHHS outscored the Ladycats 7-1, with four kills by Chloe Cook, and won the set, 25-22. But it was all Beckville in the final set, 25-11.
